Yoga is suitable for men and women of all ages and abilities, the sporty or un-sporty, with stiff or flexible bodies. It is assumed that everyone can practice to improve their problems – such as the stiffnesses or over flexibilities which can cause pain. With practice, posture improves, vitality and stamina increase, and a more positive attitude to life’s stresses and strains develops. This is a comprehensive system of exercise and self development, and:
· all parts of the body are exercised
· long, strong, supple muscles are developed
· a fresh supply of blood is brought to joints and internal organs
· it is weight-bearing
· it helps to balance the metabolism
· the mind is calmed
Poses may be sequenced to be recuperative or dynamic.
